David joined Inflexion in 2013 as a Partner and is a member of the Investment Committee. He leads our Partnership Capital team which invests in companies for a minority stake rather than control from a unique, specialist fund. Whilst most private equity funds can invest in minority situations, Inflexion’s dedicated fund enables us to be the mid-market specialist in minority investing and unique in providing access to our in-country experts and in-house digital expertise to accelerate growth.
Since the fund’s inception in early 2015 it has invested in seven businesses: CloserStill Media, a global exhibitions group; Huws Gray, the UK’s leading independent regional builders merchants; K2 Partnering Solutions, a global IT consultancy; Lane Clark & Peacock, the leading independent actuarial business; Medivet, the largest privately owned veterinary business in the UK; Mobica, a software development business; Outdoor Plus, a digital out of home advertising business; and Radius Payment Solutions, a leading fleet payments and telematics provider to small and medium sized fleets across Europe, North America and Asia. David holds a position on the boards of CloserStill Media, Lane Clark & Peacock and Radius Payment Solutions.
Previously, David worked at 3i for 16 years where most latterly he was Head of UK Private Equity. He was a founder partner of the €1.2bn Global Growth Capital fund and specialised in numerous successful minority investments into entrepreneurially led businesses including Foster + Partners, the global architect business led by Lord Norman Foster, Hyperion, the global insurance company and Hayley Conference Centres. Before 3i, David worked in Corporate Turnaround and Insolvency for PwC where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
