Inflexion appoints chairman to Pims Pumps

Inflexion is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Grice as Chairman of Pims Group, a UK market leading waste water support services company. Inflexion led the MBO of the Group in March 2008.

Ian has extensive experience in the support services industry having been most recently Chief Executive of Alfred McAlpine plc where he led the company’s transformation from a low margin, diverse, international business, with primary interests in property and house building to a thriving FTSE 250 business by narrowing its focus to support services and making strategic bolt-on acquisitions. This culminated in a successful sale to Carillion plc for c.£550m. Prior to this he was Director of John Mowlem Construction plc, an international construction, engineering and facilities management group. Since 2007 he has been a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of Diploma plc (International group of specialised distribution businesses).

As Chairman of Pims Group, Ian will be working with the existing management team headed by Charlie White as Managing Director. The business, based in Farnborough, provides domestic and commercial wastewater and rainwater pump systems and services throughout the UK.

Simon Turner, Managing Partner of Inflexion commented, “We at Inflexion are keen to ensure our portfolio companies have everything they need to take them to the next level. With Ian joining Pims, one of our companies can again benefit from a senior sector-relevant Chairman.”

Charlie White, MD of Pims Group said, “We welcome Ian’s breadth of experience and knowledge in the support services sector which will complement the existing management team’s excellent skillset and work towards making Pims the leading wastewater support services business in the UK.”
