Inflexion is delighted to announce that its portfolio company Medik8 has won the ‘AA winner of Best Corporate Sustainability Strategy - Portfolio Company’ at the Private Equity Wire ESG AAA European Awards 2023. These awards acknowledge, benchmark and reward the efforts of investment firms and portfolio companies that have created sustainable and sector-leading ESG policies in Europe. Hosted by Private Equity Wire in partnership with EthicsGrade, an AI-driven ESG data company, they create a fair and credible badge of ESG quality and advancement.  

The award celebrates ESG as core part of the Medik8 brand and its business practices. The company has pledged to achieve Net Zero by 2040, a full 10 years earlier than set out in the Paris Agreement. In 2022, Medik8 had its Scopes 1 & 2 carbon targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative and joined over 3,000 companies that are reducing their carbon emission in line with climate science, as well as signing up to the Climate Pledge in January 2023. Medik8 also submitted its application to become B Corp certified in early 2023, putting it in an admirable minority of UK firms seeking to be at the vanguard of ESG developments.  

Medik8 is an exemplary business that is showing how placing ESG concerns at the heart of business strategy can have a real positive impact on driving growth. Every part of the business is working towards helping achieve the Net Zero target, and the new state-of-the-art Innovation Centre launched earlier this year, supported by Inflexion, is a big boost in this effort.
