On Thursday 29^th June, Inflexion hosted a football tournament together with the Kinetic Foundation which was attended by teams from Inflexion’s adviser network.  Each team was asked to make a £1000 donation to Kinetic, resulting in £20,000 being raised for the charity.

The Kinetic Foundation supports disadvantaged and disengaged young people from the most deprived areas in London by delivering a wide range of educational opportunities for them to learn new skills and improve their employment potential. Initial engagement with young people is through free weekly football sessions often run at evening hours of high crime and antisocial behaviour. 8000 young people have been engaged by Kinetic, with 94% of those participants coming from underrepresented ethnic backgrounds. After graduating from Kinetic, 97% of the young people move into further education, employment or training.

In December 2022, The Inflexion Foundation granted £50,000 per annum to the Kinetic Foundation for the next three years. The grant from Inflexion is supporting Kinetic’s ambitious plans including the establishment of a girls’ academy, new academy sites across London and surrounding counties, and an extracurricular programme concentrating on contact with employers, life skills, employability skills and mentoring to improve career prospects.

We are grateful for Inflexion’s support both through the grants from the Inflexion Foundation and through their efforts in hosting the football tournament. Raising awareness is crucial for us in order to keep bringing in the funding we need, and Inflexion have really helped us to get to know their network, and in turn raise our profile.

The Inflexion Kinetic football tournament is an incredibly special event, and a chance to really see where the funding that we provide goes.
