In October 2017, Inflexion backed the buyout and simultaneous merger of Bollington Insurance Broker and Wilsons Insurance Broker to create Bollington Wilson Group. In 2021, Inflexion sold the company to one of the UK's leading independent insurance brokers, US listed Arthur J. Gallagher.

The company

Bollington Wilson (“the Group”) was created in 2017 with the support of Inflexion following the merger of two long-standing North-West insurance brokers, Bollington Insurance Brokers and F Wilson Insurance Brokers. The newly created group focused on UK expansion, creating a diversified platform from which to accelerate growth through scale and add-on acquisitions. The businesses continue to trade under their independent brands, building on their heritage and strong reputations. In 2021, Inflexion sold the company to one of the UK's leading independent insurance brokers, US listed Arthur J. Gallagher. 

 

 

The Inflexion investment

The Group grew organically and via strategic acquisition during the Inflexion investment, and is now the largest independent broker in the North of England, operating across seven offices and employing more than 400 people. It provides its clients with a holistic product offering complemented by several niche market specialisms and operates across a range of distribution channels, leveraging a nationwide team of specialist account managers and a leading digital proposition.

Inflexion also helped to digitally enhance the business and embed customer service excellence. During our investment, Inflexion helped Bollington Wilson make several strategic and value accretive acquisitions which have expanded its product offering and strengthened its regional presence.
