Employment services company Optionis saw profits increase by 100% during its partnership with Inflexion, during which time it grew acquisitively into a full-range employment services business for flexible workers. 

Established in 2000, Optionis (the parent brand of Parasol, Clearsky and Silverline) is one of the UK’s leading employment services companies. As an employment umbrella company, Parasol provides tax and billing payroll to its flexible employees whose services are contracted to end-clients, typically large blue-chip organisations, whilst Clearsky provides a full range of accounting services for SMEs. It was sold to MML Group in 2013. 

Value acceleration 

Inflexion led the buyout of the business to support the company in its organic and acquisitive growth. We initially supported the major acquisition of Clearsky, which provided complementary product streams. This was followed by three value-enhancing add-ons which expanded its service offering to include accountancy and HR services. Overall, the number of workers under management grew from 5,500 to over 12,000 during the hold period.
