The Inflexion Foundation has committed $300,000 over three years to CitySquash, a not-for-profit after-school enrichment program based in the Bronx, New York.  The organization helps motivated and talented young people from economically disadvantaged households fulfill their academic, athletic and personal potential.  The grant will be paid in annual installments across the three years.

CitySquash invests deeply in each of its participants. Students join CitySquash in third grade or sixth grade and are supported until they graduate from college. The goals for its members are for each student to develop strong character, improve academic performance, attend high-quality high schools, graduate from college and become competitive squash players.  CitySquash’s intensive, year-round programming includes squash, tutoring, mentoring, community service, travel, high school placement, college preparation and career services.

Since inception, CitySquash’s members have achieved a 100% high school graduation rate, 97% have gone on to attend college, 92% have become gainfully employed post-college and 70 members have competed at the college level in squash. Currently, there are approximately 200 students enrolled, drawn from economically disadvantaged households in the Bronx.

We are delighted to be backing the launch of MAP and partnering with an exceptional founding team. Together with Mathias, Markus and Kolja, we see a clear opportunity to build a differentiated insurance broking platform for the German mid-market.
