We've developed the Inflexion ESG Framework to guide our portfolio companies in their ESG journeys and set them up for success throughout our partnership and beyond.

Purpose

The ESG Framework enables ambitious portfolio companies to pursue bold ESG strategies while supporting those earlier on their ESG journeys. Specific milestones are established for each portfolio company during their ownership period. The Framework emphasises two critical areas: climate and diversity and inclusion.

At investment

We expect all companies to reach the 'Comply' level within the first month of investment. This involves appointing an ESG lead within the organisation and tracking, at a minimum, carbon and gender data. These elements are essential for building a strong sustainability strategy.

At exit

By the time of exit, we ask that all companies reach the 'Good Practice' level. This means they should have core sustainability policies in place, a net zero pathway, diversity and inclusion targets and initiatives, and have mapped the business to the relevant UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Encouraging excellence

We strongly encourage companies to adopt the more advanced 'Excel' and 'Pioneer' levels. We are proud that many companies are already delivering on some of these elements, such as joining the UN Global Compact and becoming B Corp certified.

Inflexion's collaborative approach was instrumental in identifying the areas of sustainability to focus on, and a whole host of support is provided to us, whether that be through insightful webinars or synergies with other portfolio companies.

Leah Saunders

ESG Manager, ITM

Inflexion have been very encouraging of Sparta’s sustainability strategy. We’ve also found their broad portfolio to be a very useful sounding board. We could not have asked for a better private equity house to back our sustainability goals and vision.

Purnima Sen

Chief People and Impact Officer, Sparta Global

Since Inflexion came in with a clear emphasis and interest in us improving our sustainability credentials, it’s become a key part of our sustainability story because now we're able to help the UK economy with regard to its carbon footprint.

Paul Reed

COO, Marley

Inflexion have provided invaluable support in assisting in implementing robust codes of conduct, transparency, and risk management practices in our supply chain, with this we have ensured that we have both ethical and sustainable sourcing mitigating any potential future supply chain disruptions.
