Inflexion is delighted to announce that it has invested in Village Vets, the largest independent group of veterinary practices in the Republic of Ireland. The investment is being made by Inflexion’s Enterprise Fund V.
Village Vets was founded in 1980 and today its 260 employees operate 19 sites predominantly in the Greater Dublin Area. Funding from Inflexion will support expansion at four of Village Vets’ existing sites as well as the opening of a new outlet in Ashbourne, Co. Meath.
Owned by the Cosgrave family, the business has been run by Charles Cosgrave, an experienced vet, since 2003. The company is a premium operator with best-in-class facilities and general veterinary services for small animals, and also operates Ireland’s largest pet crematorium. The business has grown substantially in the last 20 years, opening seven new sites through acquisition and six through greenfield expansion.
Inflexion has recent and relevant experience in scaling pet care businesses and can leverage its sector knowledge and network of industry experts gained through doubling Medivet’s business between 2015 and 2021.
The Cosgrave family have built up a fantastic business which truly puts pets and their owners at the heart of all they do. Their ambition to provide an enhanced offering and wider footprint will go a long way to helping more pet owners throughout Ireland.
Village Vets is committed to delivering the highest quality of veterinary services in Ireland and Inflexion’s investment is an important milestone for us. I am excited that with additional funding in place, from a partner with experience in our sector and who shares our vision, we will be able to achieve our growth plans. This investment will help us expand our locations, bring opportunities to our teams, and most importantly, bring our renowned pet-care and expertise to more customers and their pets.
