Inflexion, a leading European mid-market private equity firm, is pleased to announced that it has agreed to acquire Marioff, a global leader in high-pressure water mist (“HPWM”) fire suppression. The investment is being made by Inflexion’s Buyout Fund VI and is the seventh investment that Inflexion has made in the Nordic region.
Founded over 40 years ago and headquartered in Vantaa, Finland, Marioff delivers complete fire protection solutions and services across the full value chain, from development and manufacturing to sales, turnkey project execution, and lifecycle services . The unique HI-FOG® technology protects for example data centres, naval vessels and cruise ships and industrial facilities in more than 70 countries. HI-FOG® combines faster and more effective fire extinguishing with a lower impact to assets and the environment, using up to 80% less water than traditional sprinkler systems. In the latest financial year, Marioff generated revenues of $266m.
Marioff operates in a large and growing market driven by increasing safety regulation in which its technology’s superior performance is driving market share gains. Under Inflexion’s ownership, Marioff will continue to invest in innovation, its global go-to-market capabilities and its aftermarket offering, while maintaining its focus on safety, reliability and compliance. Inflexion will support management in accelerating growth in land-based end markets whilst retaining its market-leading marine customer proposition, and further growing aftermarket and service capabilities across the business. The partnership is expected to support further growth across key international markets and strengthen the company’s position as a trusted partner in fire protection.
