Inflexion, a leading European mid-market private equity firm, is pleased to announce the sale of Avantus Aerospace (“Avantus”), a global leader in C-Class components for the aerospace and defence industry, to Arcline Investment Management (“Arcline”). Avantus and its subsidiaries will operate as brands of Novaria Group, an Arcline portfolio company.
Inflexion partnered with Auctus Industries in 2015 to back the secondary buyout of Shimtech, which was renamed Avantus Aerospace in 2020.
California-based Avantus is a global leader in the manufacture of shims, fasteners and detailed parts operating across eight businesses in the US and Europe, providing mission critical parts to all major OEM, Tier 1’s and distributors into both commercial and defence aircraft programmes.
Under Inflexion's ownership Avantus has been considerably strengthened and transformed. The dual impact of the 737 MAX suspension and Covid-19 prompted wide-ranging transformational financial, organisational, commercial and operational initiatives underpinned by a new senior leadership team. Combined with targeted acquisitions, this broadened Avantus’ customer base and expanded its product range. Together these changes delivered rapid performance improvement.
Avantus is a great example of how a focused platform can capitalise on powerful end-market tailwinds. Over the course of our partnership, the business has grown in scale, breadth and capability, and we are proud of how the business has been transformed.
