Inflexion Private Equity is proud to announce that Prime Minister Theresa May has opened a large new factory extension at Thatcham-based Xtrac taking the facility size to 115,000 square feet. Xtrac, the world-renowned transmission manufacturer, has been backed by Inflexion since 2017. The Prime Minister spoke with staff and apprentices, praising the firm’s apprenticeship programme before touring the facility.

Xtrac is the world leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance transmissions for the motorsport and automotive industry. The business is at the forefront of hybrid and electric vehicles developments, and was recently invited to supply the transmission for the first all-electric Aston Martin. Xtrac supplies most of the world’s top motorsport teams in both two- and four-wheeled formulae across the globe, from MotoGP to Formula 1™. In September 2017, Inflexion backed the buyout of the company, providing funding for growth as well as expertise to assist the business with its continued expansion into the US and Asian markets.

To have the Prime Minister open our new facility makes us take pride in the business we’ve built. Our employees and apprentices are driven people who truly care about delivering excellence. The Prime Minister complimented Xtrac by saying we have a ‘great apprenticeship programme’, which we agree with and are very proud of. Our new facility will enable us to continue to service our valued customers, as well as new ones, with our high-quality transmissions.
Adrian Moore Chief Executive, Xtrac
We congratulate the entire team of Xtrac in continuing to build their business both in the UK and internationally. We look forward to supporting further growth and development as the company builds upon its world-class manufacturing excellence.
