Nominations for the National Business Awards are open

Inflexion Partners with the National Business Awards to find the UK’s International Growth Business of the Year

Inflexion Private Equity is partnering with the National Business Awards to find and recognise the UK’s International Growth Business of the Year.

Open to any UK-based enterprise achieving export growth or an increase in revenues from overseas operations, this award will find and recognise British businesses that have achieved the highest and most sustainable levels of international growth. The award focuses on all aspects of growth – including sales, profit, geographical expansion and acquisition. It will go to the organisation demonstrating the best levels of growth for its size and sector and the most robust plan for sustained financial performance.

In 2013 Oliver Valves was awarded the International Growth Business of the Year Award – as a manufacturer of high-performance oil and gas valves, it supplies to energy firms across the world and expanded into Brazil and Texas last year, also increasing its bases in the Middle East, India and UK. In 2012 Ella’s Kitchen took home the award for their success expanding into international markets.

David Whileman, Partner at Inflexion Private Equity said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the National Business Awards to find the UK’s International Growth Business of the Year. The awards open for nominations today and if the entries for previous years are anything to go by the judges are going to have a difficult task to choose between such diversity. What’s particularly exciting is hearing the success stories of how businesses within UK are winning on an international stage and whether the much talked about “green shoots of global recovery” are being widely seen.”

The call for entries and nominations comes as the National Business Awards releases their Business Without Barriers study that shows over half of UK businesses say that they are ‘quite confident’ or’ very confident’ about growth for the year ahead when compared to 2013. The report published today surveyed over 500 business decision makers in the UK and found that 75% of businesses have seen growth in the last 3 years, with 34% of businesses saying they are offering new products and services. Businesses report the biggest growth areas in the last 3 years as customer base and loyalty, overall financial growth and development in quality of service, as well as 15% also reporting growth in sustainable practices as an area where their business is currently growing.

Recognising enterprise excellence, innovation and ethics, the thirteenth annual National Business Awards will celebrate a range of achievements through accolades including the Inflexion International Growth Business of the Year, the Ashridge Business School Leader of the Year, the QBE FTSE 100 Business of the Year, the ICAEW Sustainable Business Award and the Smith & Williamson Entrepreneur of the Year.

Alex Evans, Programme Director of the National Business Awards said: “The organisations and individuals that win National Business Awards overcome barriers by considering the bigger picture, looking outside their organisations and industries for best practices that they can adapt to become market leaders. They also understand the value of talent and how to enable their people to deliver beyond expectation.

“As we launch the 2014 National Business Awards to find Britain’s best organisations, it will be fascinating to see the innovative ways they are approaching growth in the UK and internationally.”
