Founded in 2006 by Glenn Elliott, the company is a leading provider of mobile optimised, SaaS employee engagement software used by corporate HR departments to attract, engage and retain their talent. Achieving annual client retention rates over 95%, clients including IBM, McDonalds, American Express, Vodafone, Unilever and Yahoo!, all benefit from Reward Gateway’s technology to connect better with their employees and deliver benefits with proven ROI.
In 2014, Reward Gateway launched SmartHub®, a mobile optimized employee engagement platform. Through SmartHub®, clients can communicate services offered by Reward Gateway, as well as additional information important for HR to communicate to their staff. With SmartHub®, HR can communicate a more balanced view of all their benefits and reward information to staff on one platform, driving uptake and ROI across their whole benefits offering.
Reward Gateway is an internationally scalable technology business. Established by a highly entrepreneurial founder and enjoying fast growth when Inflexion invested in December 2010, the company was seeking an equally ambitious investment partner to exploit its international potential and broaden is digital product suite.
Throughout Inflexion’s four year tenure, we actively partnered with Glenn Elliott and his dynamic management team and Reward Gateway achieved exceptional growth. The company enhanced its product suite and expanded its international footprint recording a fourfold increase in EBITDA, while employee numbers rose from 64 at investment to 275 today. Focusing on international expansion, Reward Gateway acquired two businesses, one of which doubled the size of the company in Australia. Further international expansion saw the company open a local U.S. office in 2014; today international sales represent over 25% of revenue. In addition, Reward Gateway has grown market share in the UK through both client retention and new client wins. A very high level of customer service is underpinned by the company’s established 24/7 global support centre in Bulgaria. Inflexion also supported investment in new products including SmartHub®, SmartSpending™ and SmartPay™.
Inflexion worked closely with Reward Gateway’s management team to secure a buyer that would be a great fit for the business. In July 2015, we sold our entire stake to Great Hill Partners, a U.S. private equity firm.
