The company

CMO provides enterprise health, safety, environment (HSE) and governance, risk, compliance (GRC) software solutions for global corporations and regulators.

CMO serves blue-chip customers which include Maersk Group, KPMG, Heathrow Airport and BHP. Operating in a large, global market, which is enjoying double digit annual growth, demand for CMO’s products is driven by an increased need for configurable compliance software, increasing regulation as well as the increasing cost of non-compliance.

Growth strategy

Having created a best-in-class product suite, CMO sought a partner who could introduce them to skilled individuals to add depth to their team and strengthen their operations to ensure their corporate infrastructure keeps pace with their sales growth.

The Inflexion difference

As part of our investment, Inflexion introduced Loek Van den Boog as Chairman. Loek is a highly experienced software industry veteran, who was head of Oracle EMEA, where he led rapid international expansion, and has held board and management positions with multiple global technology companies, supporting them through periods of high growth and rapid change.

In June 2016, CMO was sold to Mitratech, a US headquartered global software provider for corporate legal departments. Mitratech is attracted to CMO’s scalable, mobile optimised, platform which compliments its existing product suite. CMO gives Mitratech a wider global footprint across the GRC sector,adding new customers through which it can cross-sell its existing legal software services.
